Elon Musk’s October invasion of Twitter has led over 500 advertisers to pause their spending with Twitter. Leading revenue to drop by 40%. With advertising being Twitter’s main source of
income they seem to be stuck in a predicament. The recent rise of hate speech on the platform has led advertisers to withdraw, as well as a rise in impersonator accounts due to the blue tick scheme for verified users. Only time will tell how this will all play out.
